Class Expectations
  1. Be on time!
  2. Be prepared.
  3. Be attentive.
  4. Be productive.
  5. Be respectful.
*If you follow these most-basic expectations, you are going to do very well in this class this semester!*

75 Percent Rule

  • Your overall grade must be at or above a 75 percent to take advantage of the flex learning time in Clark Hall. If your grade falls below a 75, you must remain in the classroom to work on your assignments.

Grading/Assessment
  • Grades are based on a percentage of points earned from activities and assignments.
  • Points will be assigned for class work, homework, quizzes, and writing projects.
  • Class participation will also be allotted. (10 points per day)
  • Writing assignments will not be accepted for full credit if they are late or the absence is unexcused.
  • Responsibility for work missed when absent falls on you. Please check the class blog/portal or get in contact with a friend or classmate when you are absent.
  • The pace of this class will move quickly. Even though you may miss class you will be expected to keep up with the writing assignments, vocabulary, and other unit assignments as they are assigned.
Materials
  • Pen/pencil
  • Highlighter
  • Paper
  • Folder (We suggest a 3-ring binder with tabs, but it is not a specific requirement).
  • Packets (Teacher created)
  • Vocabulary Lists (Teacher provided)
  • Student created blog
Mrs. Owens and I respect the fact that you are seniors, and that you know most of the information mentioned above. It is important that you remember that you are in a college-like setting and that this is a college prep course. Our expectations of you take all of this into account. Please know that you may communicate with me or Mrs. Owens of anything going on in your life that you think we should know about. Mrs. Owens and I are easy to get along with, and we want you to know that we do follow the GLHS handbook.
